The RUSA Membership Social at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Denver was a huge success! Special thanks are due to the generosity of our vendors, Penguin Random House, RapidILL, ReferenceUSA, Sage Publishing, the hard work of RUSA staff members Leighann Wood and Melissa Tracy, and the creativity and commitment of the Member Engagement Committee. The food was excellent and member spirits were high.
The Social was heavily attended with nearly 75 members and 25 guests. Dave Tyckoson graciously hosted RUSA Trivia, where teams were encouraged to compete for a $250 jackpot to be donated to an ALA Initiative of their choice. This year’s winning team donated their prize to the Freedom to Read Foundation, an organization whose mission it is to protect and defend the First Amendment to the Constitution while supporting the right of libraries to collect – and individuals to access- information.
Members who participated in the #HumansOfRUSA Twitter campaign were featured in a slide show along with highlights from the current board and RUSA Office.
Keep your eye out for RUSA programming at Annual we look forward to seeing you there!
