Amanda B. Click Wins BRASS Research Grant Award

Amanda B. Click, Business Librarian, American University, was named the 2019 winner of the BRASS Research Grant Award, sponsored by Emerald Publishing.  The winning project by Amanda and her research team was, “The Framework in business information literacy: A mixed methods study”.

The proposal is for a mixed method study that aims to explore the ways that librarians – specifically those that provide support to business students and faculty – use the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education in their instruction work. The study will include a systematic review, a survey, and focus groups, with the goal of identifying best practices and new ideas for teaching as well as increasing the value of the Framework for business librarians.

BRASS would also like to congratulate her research teammates Claire Wiley, Research and Instruction Librarian, Belmont University and Meggan Houlihan, Coordinator of Library Instruction and Student Programs, New York University Abu Dhabi.

Sponsored by Emerald Publishing, the award consists of $5,000 and a citation.

The BRASS Emerald Research Grant Award committee includes: Ms. Lisa Louis (Chair), Jennifer C. Boettcher, Paul Brothers, and Yan Liu.
