Rachel Ivy Clarke selected as winner of Gail Schlachter Memorial Research Grant

The Gail Schlachter Memorial Research Grant is awarded annually to financially support an individual or collaborative group conducting research into reference or user services whose research projects aim to better understand or answer key questions related to connecting people to resources, information services, and collections.

Rachel Ivy Clarke, Syracuse University, was selected as the 2021 winner of the Gail Schlachter Memorial Research Grant.

Clarke’s project, “The Role of Repertoire in Library Reference Interactions”, seeks to 1) identify the size, scope, and diversity of reference workers’ repertory knowledge 2) Identify existing and potential means by which reference workers build their repertoire 3) Articulate ways in which reference workers can diversify their repertory knowledge.

The 2021 Gail Schlachter Memorial Research Grant committee was Chaired by Chris LeBeau.
