ETS Achievement Award Given to Courtney Renee McDonald, User Experience Librarian, University Libraries, University of Colorado Boulder

Courtney Renee McDonald successfully proposed that ETS create a User Experience committee and was instrumental in launching that committee. She also served as ETS Chair from July 2016 through June 2017 and helped lead the section’s reorganization effort. The reorganization simplified ETS’s committee structure and established connections among committees to enable more collaboration. The new slate of committees meshed better with the current state of librarianship and ensured that ETS would have a wealth of relevant programming and educational opportunities. Her optimism and enthusiasm for emerging technologies was infectious and has helped push ETS to new heights.
Additionally, Ms. McDonald has been a welcoming and mentoring influence for the section over the last decade. She has helped many ETS committee members to progress in their service endeavors. ETS applauds her career, her contributions, and her efforts to help others realize that leadership roles are available and attainable.
