Boston Library Consortium E-Book Sharing Working Group, co-chaired by Marc Hoffeditz and Molly Dupere, chosen for the 2025 STARS Publication Recognition Award

“On behalf of the E-Book Sharing Working Group, we are honored to receive the 2025 RUSA STARS Publication Recognition Award. We are grateful to the selection committee for recognizing the work of our diverse group of collection strategists, resource sharing practitioners, and systems administrators, whose expertise and innovation continue to strengthen the power of our consortia. We hope the E-Book ILL Roadmaps are a signal of what can be created through future cross-disciplinary partnerships in the library space. E-Book interlibrary loan is one part of the broader push to expand the boundaries of digital content sharing and we look forward to furthering this meaningful work of libraries and consortia worldwide to maximize the impact of their collections.” – Molly Dupere & Marc Hoffeditz
“Boston Library Consortium E-Book Sharing Working Group’s publication, “E-Book ILL Roadmaps,” stands out for being both practical and aspirational. There is something for resource sharing practitioners at every level of their career in this important publication. We are so pleased to honor this important work.” – Award Committee Statement
“E-Book ILL Roadmaps” is an important contribution to resource sharing community. It is well-written, well-organized, and demonstrates rigorous inquiry. It is a timely publication: there are still obstacles to sharing e-books through interlibrary loan, but “E-Book ILL Roadmaps” provides concrete ways that libraries can make progress on those issues. The roadmap brings together many different pieces of that puzzle in coherent language. The publication is both practical and aspirational: something resource sharing practitioners can use to learn about how other institutions do things, but also to talk with publishers and colleagues about larger topics like negotiating ILL rights and solidifying best practices.
