CODES members are catching their breaths after a busy ALA Midwinter Meeting in Atlanta. The expertise and hard work of many CODES members paid off with the announcement of the winning works at the RUSA Book and Media Awards ceremony. CODES announced willing entries for the Notable Books List, Outstanding Reference Sources, the Reading List, the Sophie Brody Award, and the Dartmouth Medal. You can read more about these and other RUSA Book and Media Awards at http://www.rusaupdate.org/category/awards/book-and-media/.
CODES leadership is making appointments to CODES committees, and volunteers are always welcome! Just complete the committee volunteer form (http://www.ala.org/rusa/members/volunteer). Appointments to CODES committees are made in the spring. Please consider joining and collaborating with your CODES colleagues!
Many CODES committees are now virtual, so opportunities may exist for participating that were not available in the past. If you have questions about appointments to CODES committees please check with Patrick Wall, CODES Vice Chair/Chair-Elect (pjwall@ucitylibrary.org). Find out more about CODES (http://www.ala.org/rusa/sections/codes). You can find a list of current CODES committees and rosters at http://www.ala.org/rusa/sections/codes/committees.
CODES is seeking volunteers who are interested in serving on the Reference Publishing Advisory Committee (RPAC) (http://www.ala.org/rusa/contact/rosters/codes/rus-codreft ). As reference publishing and reference services continue to change, RPAC is evolving too. If you are interested in being a part of this transformation, please contact CODES Chair Daniel Mack at dmack@udm.edu.
